How it works

The formula

Exactly what this calculator does with your numbers — no hidden assumptions.

01percent

Referral fee

A percentage of the total price the buyer pays, including any shipping — 15% for kitchen, toys, sports and most other categories, 7% for electronics and computers, 13% for tools.

Price-based rates

Some categories drop for cheaper items: home products are 8% up to £20, beauty 8% up to £10, and clothing 5% up to £15 and 10% to £20. Jewellery is 20% on the first £225 and 5% above.

FBA and minimums

Most categories have a £0.25 minimum referral fee. If Amazon fulfils your orders, add the FBA fee for your size tier — UK FBA fees include a 1.5% fuel and logistics surcharge from 17 April 2026.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Q1What is the Amazon UK referral fee?
It depends on the category. Most categories are 15%; consumer electronics and computers are 7%; tools and home improvement 13%. Home products, beauty and clothing have lower rates for cheaper items.
Q2Do Amazon UK fees include VAT?
Amazon’s UK fees are charged before VAT. If you are VAT-registered you can usually reclaim the VAT on Amazon’s fees — check with your accountant.
Q3Why is clothing marked “up to £40”?
For FBA and Seller Fulfilled Prime clothing above £40, Amazon charges 15% on the first £40 and 7% on the rest. Use the custom rate if that applies to you.
Q4Is this the same as Amazon’s Revenue Calculator?
No — Amazon’s calculator works out exact FBA fees for a specific product. Use it to get your FBA fee, then enter it here to see your full profit.
