How it works

The formula

Exactly what this calculator does with your numbers — no hidden assumptions.

01percent

Final value fee

A percentage of the total the buyer pays — item, shipping and sales tax. 13.6% for most categories on the first $7,500, then 2.35% above that.

02receipt

Per-order fee

$0.30 if the order total is $10 or less, $0.40 if it is over $10.

03campaign

Promoted Listings

If you promote a listing (general ads), you pay your chosen ad rate on the sale price plus shipping when it sells through the ad.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Q1How much are eBay fees in 2026?
For most categories eBay charges a 13.6% final value fee on the total sale amount (up to $7,500) plus $0.40 per order over $10. Some categories, like books and media, are higher.
Q2Why does eBay charge fees on sales tax?
eBay calculates the final value fee on the total amount the buyer pays, which includes sales tax. The tax itself goes to the state, so it is not part of your payout.
Q3Do store subscriptions lower my fees?
Yes — eBay Store subscribers get lower final value fees in many categories. Enter your own rate if you have a store discount.
Q4What isn’t included?
International fees, below-standard seller surcharges, top-rated discounts, store subscription costs and insertion fees beyond your free allowance are not included.
